When it comes to lawn management, home owners will need to look at ten important tips if they hope to perform a perfect job. When it comes to mowing as part of lawn care, the secret is to mow frequently with blades that are very sharp. Frequent cutting has been seen to force the grass to grow thicker and in return keep the weeds out. Keeping the blades sharp ensures that grass is not beat up.

It will be important to make sure you do not mow the grass too low. When trimmed at a very short level, grass responds by growing very fast. Mowing too low will also mean that you need to use more water and herbicides.

Wet yards should not be mowed. When mowing wet yards, you will be making the soil compacted. Compacted soil is not good as it makes it impossible for roots to spread out. The roots are therefore not able to get the required nutrients and oxygen levels.

When the grass is mowed, ensure you do not collect the resulting clippings. These clippings are important to the fertility of your soil. The soil fertility is improved when clippings are mulched back as they make the soil more fertile. This will also reduce the number of times you head to the dumpster.

Irrigation is another issue that must be addressed when it comes to mowing a yard. When watering, make sure you water deeply and then watch how the grass grows. Take time before watering the yards to make sure that you do not use too much water on the place.

Avoid applying water during the night. At night, evaporation will not take place. By morning, this yard will have retained too much water. In return, grass will become more susceptible to diseases. This is because of the fact that the yard will have retained too much moisture. The best time to water is in the morning before midday.

Fertilizer application must also be done with care. When applying the fertilizer, ensure you do not apply too much fertilizer. Too much fertilizer stimulates growth. This in turn leads to thatch and this in turn means that the property owner will need to perform more mowing. Always test the soil before applying any fertilizer.

Choose one fertilizer and stick to it throughout. Do not mix your fertilizers. When you mix different fertilizers say natural and synthetic, you can rest assured that the results achieved will be very poor. Always consider the fertilizer that is to be used very well.

It is important to institute pest control measures in to your yard as often as possible. Pest control can be done in very many ways. There are individuals who grow thick turfs as a way of ensuring pests does not get a place to hide. Whichever way is chosen should be thoroughly checked.

If you choose to use herbicides in order to control and manage weeds, ensure the herbicide chosen is the best. Consider the type of weeds that are present before going out to the store to purchase a herbicide. Always make sure you consult a professional if not sure on which herbicide is the best.
