Lawns that are exposed to a lot of wear and tear are very suitable candidates for aeration. Airing lawns makes them to have better air movement, better water movement and better circulation of nutrients. As a result, regular grass cutting assists in spreading grass into creation of a thick bed at the expense of the weeds.
