He should be removing high spots and filling low spots. This way, such situation could be creating a good growing condition for grass.

They may also experience soil compaction. In these situations, their grasses cannot take root. Harder weeds will take over them, instead. To check if they have these situations on their own yards, the residents should stick garden forks to the ground. The forks should penetrate about two inches of soil to clear themselves of these situations. Otherwise, they will need certain equipments to loosen their grounds.

The individual could also be experiencing thatching. In this situation, water and also nutrients cannot be reaching the soil. With this, the grass will also be lacking such things. The resident should be utilizing his garden rake in breaking each mat of thatch. If he has a bigger yard, he could be using a dethatcher, instead.

The soil on their yards should also be tested before their grasses will be replanted. Soil samples can be sent to certain government branches to have the conditions which prevent the growth of their grasses determined. The nutrients lacked by the soils and how these problems can be corrected can also be identified by these branches. After the corrections were made, the grounds should be aerated for other problems to be prevented.

Once the yards are ready, the proprietors should buy seeds that they will spread on them. There are several factors that these residents should consider before they will choose the seeds that they should obtain, such as the amounts of sunlights that the seeds can get on their locations or the compositions of the soil they already have. They should estimate the measurements of the areas where they will plant the seeds afterwards.

The owner should not be ignoring the grass after planting them. He should be regularly watering them for them to be growing beautifully. If such grasses grow up to four inches, he should be mowing them. However, they must not be going down to an inch for him not to be stressing the plants out.
